Cooking Instructions

Prepare Filling:

  1. Finely dice the prawns, mushrooms and cabbage/spring onions.
  2. In a large bowl, add diced ingredients, minced pork and mix well until combined and sticky.
  3. Add egg and seasoning ingredients and mix until thoroughly combined.

Wrap Wontons:

  1. Thaw Mrs Tran’s Kitchen Wonton Wrappers following pack instructions.
  2. Place one wrapper in your palm and add about 1 teaspoon of filling in the centre.
  3. Lightly wet two edges with water and fold up the wrapper to form a triangle shape.
  4. Bring the other two corners up and press firmly to complete your wonton.

Cooking Your Wontons:

  • Deep Fried :
Heat oil to medium heat (170ºC) and gently add wontons into the oil, cooking in batches. Cook for 2-3 minutes until wrapper is crisp and golden brown. Serve with Mrs Tran’s Kitchen Pineapple Sweet Chilli Sauce or your favourite mayonnaise.
  • Boiling :
Carefully add wontons to a pot of boiling water and cook for 3-4 minutes, stir occasionally to prevent sticking. Wontons are cooked when they rise and float. Remove from water and serve immediately in your favourite noodle soup.
  • Pan Fried :
On medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan, swirling the pan to evenly coat the base. Add wontons to the pan and fry for 1 minute. Add some water to the pan, about 1cm depth and cover with a lid, cook until water evaporates and wontons are cooked with a crisp bottom.
