Crispy, golden cauliflower florets are tossed in a sweet and savoury vegan friendly fish sauce glaze, infused with garlic and topped with sesame seeds and fresh herbs. Ingredients

Serves 4

1 Large cauliflower, cut into florets

4 Garlic cloves, minced

1/2 Cup rice flour

Vegetable oil, for frying

For Sauce:

1/4 Cup Mrs Tran’s Kitchen Vegetarian Pre-Mixed Fish Sauce

2 Tbsp sugar

2 Tbsp vegetable oil

Optional Garnish:

Chopped spring onion, coriander, chilli strips or sesame seeds

Cooking Instructions

  1. Prep Cauliflower and Garlic: Cut the cauliflower into florets and mince the garlic.
  2. Coat Cauliflower: Place the rice starch in a shallow bowl and coat the cauliflower florets evenly.
  3. Fry Cauliflower: Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the cauliflower in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per batch. Drain on paper towels.
  4. Prepare Sauce: In a separate pan, sauté the minced garlic in a bit of oil until fragrant. Add the premixed vegetarian fish sauce, sugar and cook until heated through and slightly thickened, about 2-3 minutes. 
  5. Combine and Garnish: Pour the sauce over the fried cauliflower and toss gently to coat. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped spring onions or coriander if desired.

Variations:

  • Substitute cauliflower for other vegetables or proteins.
