Wonton Apple Strudels
A clever twist on a classic dessert, these Wonton Apple Strudels transform our delicate wonton wrappers into irresistibly crisp, golden parcels. Filled with warm spiced apples and cooked to perfection, it’s a quick and creative way to enjoy all the flavours of traditional strudel without the fuss of pastry making. Perfect for entertaining or a sweet treat at home.

Ingredients:
10-12 sheets Mrs Tran’s Kitchen Wonton Wrappers
1 Medium apple, peeled & diced
2 tbsp Sugar/brown sugar
1 tbsp Butter
½ tsp Cinnamon
½ tsp Vanilla extract
1 tsp Lemon juice
Oil spray (for air fryer) or melted butter
Optional:
¼ cup raisins or sultanas
¼ cup chopped nuts
Cooking Instructions
Prepare Filling:
- In a pan over medium heat, melt butter. Add diced apple, sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice and vanilla extract. Add raisins/sultanas and nuts if desired.
- Cook for 4-5 minutes until apple softens. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
Assemble the strudel parcels
- Lay wonton wrapper on a plate.
- Spoon 1 tbsp of apple filling on one half of the wrapper.
- Brush cold water along the edges and fold the wrapper over and press firmly to seal the parcel.
Cooking Your Wonton Apple Strudel parcels:
- Air-Fried:
Lightly spray or brush with oil/melted butter on each parcel.
Air fry at 180°C for 10-12 minutes or until golden and crispy.
- Oven Baked:
Lightly spray or brush with oil/melted butter on each parcel.
Bake at 180°C for approximately 15 minutes.
- Deep Fried:
Deep fry at 180°C for roughly 2-3 minutes.
Serving Tips:
- Sprinkle a little brown sugar on top before cooking for extra caramelisation.
- Add a pinch of nutmeg when preparing the filling for a warmer flavour.
- Best served warm for that classic strudel feel.
- Dust with icing sugar or serve with vanilla ice cream.
