Serves 4

1kg Chicken wings

1 Cup Rice starch or corn starch   

Salt & pepper, to taste

Oil for frying

Sticky Pineapple Sauce:

1/2 Cup Mrs Tran’s Kitchen Pineapple Sweet Chilli Sauce

2 Tbsp Mrs Tran’s Kitchen Light Soy Sauce

2 Tbsp Honey (optional)

2 Garlic cloves, minced

1 Tsp Ginger, grated 

Optional Garnish: Chopped spring onions, sliced chilli, coriander or sesame seeds.

Cooking Instructions

  1. Pat dry chicken wings with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper. Coat each wing in rice starch or corn starch, shaking off any excess.
  2. Heat oil to 180°C and fry wings in batches for 8-10 minutes, or until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  3. To make sticky pineapple sauce, in a saucepan combine Mrs Tran’s Kitchen Pineapple Sweet Chilli Sauce, Mrs Tran’s Kitchen Light Soy Sauce, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Heat until slightly thickened, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Toss the fried wings in the sticky pineapple sauce until evenly coated. Top with desired garnishes and serve.
